Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has added five new altcoins to its watchlist. The exchange announced that it will expand its Watch Tag to include Moonbeam (GLMR), ICON (ICX), Moonriver (MOVR), SuperRare (RARE), and Sophon (SOPH).

Binance stated that these tokens are closely monitored and regularly reviewed, and warned investors that they exhibit higher volatility and risk compared to other listed tokens. The exchange noted that tokens with a Watch Tag risk no longer meeting its listing criteria and being delisted from the platform.

The inclusion of Moonriver (MOVR) on the watchlist is notable, as it was one of the most popular altcoins during the 2021 cryptocurrency bull market. SuperRare (RARE) also benefited significantly from the NFT craze in 2021. ICON (ICX), an older project, saw a significant surge during the 2017-2018 cryptocurrency rally and is often referred to as 'the Korean Ethereum'.
