Binance and South Korea Drive XRP Spot Trading Volume to Six-Month High
XRP spot trading volume surged to a six-month high in August, driven by activity on Binance and major South Korean exchanges. According to Arab Chain, eight exchanges accounted for approximately $20.34 billion in XRP spot trading volume during the month.
Binance led the way with nearly $7.28 billion in XRP transactions, followed closely by Upbit with around $4.68 billion. Bithumb Korea also contributed significantly with approximately $2.59 billion. These three exchanges combined for over 71% of the reported activity across all eight platforms.
The increase in spot volume indicates greater participation in XRP markets, but it does not necessarily signal a sustained bullish trend. Higher trading volume can bring more buyers and sellers into the market, increasing liquidity, but elevated turnover can occur during accumulation, distribution, profit-taking or aggressive selling. Additional market signals will be necessary to determine whether the increased activity develops into lasting upward momentum.
