Binance Android App Vanishes from Google Play in Select EU Countries
Binance's Android app has vanished from Google Play in some EU countries, sparking questions about the exchange's compliance with the region's crypto licensing framework.
A user in Spain confirmed to Cointelegraph that the Binance app was no longer visible on Google Play searches. However, it remained accessible through Oppo's App Market, an alternative Android store used by some device owners.
The issue does not affect all EU markets, as checks in Poland showed the Binance app still available on Google Play. This suggests that the problem is localized to specific countries within the bloc.
Last week, OKX Europe CEO Erald Ghoos claimed on X that the app had been removed due to Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) licensing requirements. Cointelegraph reached out to Binance for comment but did not receive a response before publication time.
