Binance App Disappears from Google Play in EU Countries Amid MiCA Compliance
Binance has removed its app from Google Play in some European Union countries, citing recent policy updates from Google. Users in Spain and Latvia reported that they could no longer find the Binance app on Google Play, while it remained available in Poland. The move comes as Binance continues to adjust its operations following the end of the MiCA transitional period on July 1.
Binance stated that it is working with Google to resolve the issue, but did not provide a timeline for when the app would be restored. Users who already have the application installed will still have access, but new downloads will be affected.
The removal of Binance's app from Google Play has sparked questions about the impact of MiCA on cryptocurrency service providers in the EU. MiCA requires exchanges to obtain authorization in at least one member state before offering regulated services across the bloc. Binance has scaled back its services in parts of the EU following the end of the transitional period.
