Binance App Disappears from Google Play in Some EU Countries
The Binance app has disappeared from Google Play in several European Union countries. The removal comes amid concerns over the exchange's compliance with EU crypto regulations.
A user in Spain reported that the Binance app is no longer available on Google Play, but can still be downloaded through App Market, used on Oppo devices.
In contrast, the Binance app remains available on Google Play in Poland, suggesting the restrictions have not affected all EU countries.
The issue first emerged last week, with OKX Europe CEO Erald Ghoos speculating that the removal might be linked to the requirements of the Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation, or MiCA.
Binance withdrew its MiCA license application in Greece just before the transition period ended on July 1. The company later notified some EU users that access to certain services would be restricted, while withdrawals would remain available.
