Binance-Backed SafePal Exposed 40,000 Customers' Sensitive Data
A Binance-backed wallet provider, SafePal, revealed a security incident involving unauthorized access to customer order information. A flaw in the order-tracking plug-in led to exposure of sensitive data for about 39,798 customers between March 2, 2025, and April 11, 2026.
The affected information includes names, email addresses, shipping addresses, phone numbers, and purchase details. SafePal emphasized that users' seed phrases, private keys, wallet passwords, or other wallet credentials were not exposed in the incident.
Customers have been notified individually by email, and the issue has been fixed with additional security measures introduced to prevent similar incidents in the future.
