Binance Cracks Down on HTX and 15 Other Exchanges Amid Regulatory Compliance Measures
Binance is taking strict measures to enforce international regulatory compliance by blocking transactions involving 16 specific crypto exchanges and service providers. The restricted list includes HTX, a major global player that was sanctioned by the European Union in July 2026 for allegedly helping Russia circumvent restrictions tied to the Ukraine invasion.
The EU accused HTX of providing financial services for A7 Limited Liability Company, which is connected to A7 Nigeria and A7 Africa. Meanwhile, the U.S. Treasury Department sanctioned two entities, Shelbit and Aban Tether Exchange, over alleged Iran-linked money laundering and sanctions evasion.
Binance will block transactions with HTX and 15 other exchanges starting next week on August 23. The exchange has issued a clear warning to its users, advising them to refrain from sending or receiving funds involving these entities after their specific cutoff dates.
