Binance Delists Privacy Coins in Europe Amid Regulatory Scrutiny
Crypto exchange Binance is delisting privacy-focused cryptocurrencies in multiple European countries. The decision affects users in France, Italy, Poland, and Spain, who will no longer be able to trade certain tokens on the platform as of June 26.
The twelve affected tokens include Monero (XMR), Zcash (ZEC), and Dash (DASH). Binance is taking this step in response to local laws and regulations governing the trading of privacy coins, which have been a subject of scrutiny worldwide due to concerns about money laundering and terrorism financing.
This move highlights the increasing pressure on cryptocurrencies designed to enhance user privacy. As governments worldwide enforce Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, major exchanges are being forced to comply with local regulatory requirements.
