Binance Delists Three Altcoins Amid US Crypto Policy Developments
Binance, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges globally, has announced that it will delist three altcoins from its platform. The affected tokens are ICON (ICX), Secret (SCRT), and Storj (STORJ). According to Binance, this decision was made after a thorough review of these projects.
The review considered various factors such as project team commitment, development activity, trading volume and liquidity, network safety, public communication, community engagement, and response to due diligence requests. The exchange also looked into possible fraud or negligence, new rules, changes to token supply or tokenomics, changes in project ownership or core team members, and community sentiment.
Binance has set different deadlines for the delisting of these tokens across its various services. For spot trading, the affected pairs will be removed on September 3 at 03:00 UTC. However, earlier deadlines have been set for other services such as Binance Spot Copy Trading (August 27), Binance Futures (August 26), Margin services (August 21), and Simple Earn (after August 27).
Meanwhile, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao has expressed his views on the US crypto market. He believes that if Hyperliquid is allowed to operate in the United States, it could pave the way for other decentralized exchange platforms and services to enter the market.
