Binance Ditches Low-Liquidity Stablecoin Pairs Amid Liquidity Shift
Binance is making changes to its trading pairs on September 11, shutting down spot trading for three low-liquidity stablecoin-based markets.
The pairs being removed are OPEN/FDUSD and SAGA/FDUSD, as well as VELODROME/USDC. However, trading in the underlying cryptocurrencies themselves will remain unaffected, and other pairs such as USDT or BTC will still be available.
This move is part of Binance's strategy to concentrate liquidity into more active pairs, rather than maintaining markets with low trader interest.
The affected stablecoin-based markets have seen a sharp decline in liquidity, with the share of FDUSD trading volume for mid-cap altcoins ranging from 0.06 to 0.14 percent.
Automated trading users need to be cautious and check open orders and bot settings before trading stops, as Binance will automatically shut down spot trading bots linked to pairs set to end trading.
