Binance Dominates ETF Perpetual Contracts Market with 74% Share
The Binance exchange has made rapid strides in the ETF perpetual contracts market, dominating the space with over $116 billion in cumulative trading volume since its March debut.
Binance's market share now stands at 74%, up from just 18% when the product launched. The exchange lists 146 pairs of such contracts, including those that track SPY and QQQ.
The ETF wrapper has proven to be a key factor in the rapid adoption of this new financial instrument, as it reduces the cognitive distance for traders who are familiar with traditional capital markets.
However, the market concentration above 70% raises concerns about competition from other major exchanges and regulatory pressure on hybrid crypto products.
