Binance Dominates TradFi Perpetual Market with Unprecedented Volume Growth
Binance's perpetual contracts are witnessing unprecedented growth in volume, with TradFi (traditional finance) products outpacing their crypto counterparts. According to data from August 19th, ten of the top 15 perpetual contracts on Binance by 24-hour volume were TradFi perpetuals tied to equities, ETFs, or commodities.
The SanDisk perpetual contract (SANDUSDT) led with roughly $6.87 billion in 24-hour trading volume, accounting for about 22% of SanDisk's trading volume on Nasdaq. This surge in volume is attributed to the company's extraordinary run in the stock market, driven by an AI-driven memory boom.
Binance has been expanding its TradFi perpetuals lineup since April 7th, offering USDT-margined contracts for U.S. stocks, ETFs, and precious and industrial metals. This move aims to provide users with a one-stop-shop for trading various assets, including traditional finance products and tokenized securities.
The exchange's dominance in the TradFi perpetual market is evident, with Binance holding roughly 76% of equity perpetual volume across tracked exchanges in July 2026. This concentration matters for the broader convergence of crypto and traditional finance, as it sets a new standard for how leveraged bets on U.S. equities are placed outside regular market hours.
