Binance Donates ₹3.3 Crore to Assam Flood Relief via Goonj

Binance Charity has donated ₹3.3 crore (approximately $400,000) to Goonj's Rahat initiative for Assam flood relief efforts. The donation is part of Binance's blockchain-powered charitable giving, which aims to provide transparent and traceable aid.

Goonj will channel the funds towards immediate needs such as food, clothing, and medical supplies for flood-hit regions in Assam. The state has faced annual monsoon flooding, displacing millions and causing significant human and economic losses.

Binance Charity's blockchain-driven approach ensures transparency in fund allocation, a recurring issue in traditional philanthropic systems. This model has been applied in other Binance Charity initiatives, including its 2022 Ukrainian refugee crypto cash pilot and COVID-19 medical supply campaigns.
