Binance Employees Cleared After UAE Detention Over Third-Party Fund Flows
Binance employees detained in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been cleared and released after answering questions about third-party fund flows. According to reports, two Binance employees were stopped by authorities at airports in the UAE during recent weeks as part of an investigation into potential financial crimes.
The exchange confirmed that a small number of employees had provided statements during what it called a 'routine inquiry.' The inquiry involved third-party fund flows passing through a Binance client money account, but the exact transactions under review remain unknown.
Binance said it was cooperating with Dubai Police and authorities in other Emirates, adding that it was working to create clearer procedures for responding to similar inquiries. Despite the detention, no formal charges were disclosed against the employees, and Binance retains its active Dubai license.
