Binance Employees Detained in UAE Amid Ongoing Concerns Over Platform Use

Tensions between Binance and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have escalated as two employees of the leading cryptocurrency exchange were detained in recent weeks, while a third was questioned at a police station last July.

The detentions appear to be an unusual official pressure on the company, which has its main regulator in the UAE. One employee, a mid-level staff member, was stopped at Emirates airports and held overnight after traveling through Sharjah this month.

Binance officials expressed concerns about the safety of staff, contacting UAE officials to discuss the situation. Some employees may have been targeted because they're listed on a corporate bank account used for withdrawals and deposits by customers.
