Binance Employees Detained in UAE Fund Flow Probe
Binance employees faced brief detention at UAE airports during an investigation into fund flow. The exchange confirmed that two staff members were stopped and questioned by authorities, but said they were not targets of the probe.
The detained employees provided statements to UAE authorities as part of a routine inquiry into third-party fund flows moving through a Binance client money account. This type of account typically holds funds on behalf of institutional clients rather than the exchange itself.
Binance stressed that none of the employees involved were considered targets of the broader probe and were cleared of any wrongdoing after questioning concluded. The company is working with Dubai Police to build clearer coordination procedures for future inquiries.
