Binance Founder Sees Crypto Winter Investments as Potential Best Performers
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao claims that investments made by his family office, YZi Labs, during the crypto downturn could be some of its strongest performers.
In a September 4 post on X, Zhao argued that deploying capital when prices and sentiment are at their lowest creates conditions for outsized returns later. He believes the investments made over the last few months will be among the best performing due to being done during the 'depth of the crypto winter'.
YZi Labs manages more than $10 billion in assets, investing in a range of sectors including Web3, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology.
The firm's 2026 activity includes investments in RoboForce, a physical AI robotics company; BitGo, a digital asset custodian; Predict.fun, a self-custodial prediction market; AEON, an AI-agent payments protocol; and TermMax, a fixed-rate lending protocol.
