Binance Futures Trading Dominates Spot Markets Amid Weakening Demand

Binance has witnessed a record split in Bitcoin spot and futures trading volumes. The data from CryptoQuant reveals that the ratio of futures to spot volume now stands at 7.82, indicating that futures trading is nearly eight times higher than spot markets.

The daily futures trading volume on Binance reached $57.82 billion this week, while spot trading trailed behind at $6.08 billion. This trend reflects a shift in market activity, with more investors and traders opting for futures to leverage their trades, manage risk, or employ short-term strategies.

CryptoQuant's data also shows that both spot and derivatives demand have been declining over the past few months. Spot demand has been particularly weak since June, while futures trading volume remains net positive but at a lower level than during the rebound three months ago.
