Binance Hands Over User Data Amid Russian Probe
Russian investigators have obtained user data from Binance related to cryptocurrency donations made by Yurii Bilenkyi, who sent more than $700 to Ukrainian military recipients in 2025. This move has sparked concerns among crypto users, given that Binance previously stated it would withdraw completely from Russia in 2023.
The European Union is also facing a surge in scam activity as the market transitions to the MiCA regulatory framework. Over 1,700 platforms without licenses have been ordered to cease serving customers in the EU, highlighting the challenges of adapting to new industry standards. By July 1, 2026, only 323 companies had obtained MiCA approval.
SafePal has disclosed a data breach affecting approximately 39,798 users' data between March 2, 2025, and April 11, 2026. The company detected unauthorized access to user information through a flaw in the order-tracking feature, exposing names, email addresses, phone numbers, and shipping addresses.
