Binance, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, provided Russian authorities with personal and transaction data on a Russian IT specialist who made donations to Ukrainian fundraising campaigns.

The user, Yuri Belenkiy, was identified as a 49-year-old Russian citizen with a Bulgarian residency permit. He sent over $700 in cryptocurrency to the Ukrainian military and an associated organization before being detained in September 2025 on terrorism financing charges.

Binance says it cooperates with lawful requests from law enforcement agencies worldwide but declined to comment specifically on Belenkiy's case, citing confidentiality.
