Binance has made it more difficult for law enforcement to investigate and prosecute cryptocurrency-related crimes, according to a new report. The exchange's lax practices have hindered efforts by authorities to track illicit transactions.

The report highlights Binance's lack of transparency in its Know-Your-Customer (KYC) procedures, making it challenging for regulators to monitor suspicious activity on the platform. This has led to concerns that Binance may be inadvertently facilitating money laundering and other financial crimes.

CoinDesk obtained a copy of an internal document from Bullish, which owns CoinDesk, that outlines the issues with Binance's KYC practices. The report states that Binance does not provide adequate information about its users to law enforcement agencies, making it difficult for them to conduct investigations.
