Binance Lets AI Models Like ChatGPT Trade Crypto with Agent OS
Binance has launched Agent OS, a developer platform that allows AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude Code to execute crypto trades in a trader's account. The platform, which went live on August 20, 2026, enables traders to assign access levels and risk limits for each agent.
The trader determines the amount of risk an agent can take and funnels activity into dedicated subaccounts instead of opening a full account for an agent. This separates an agent's money from the rest of a trader's money, with withdrawals from subaccounts disabled by default.
Binance product VP Jeff Li explained that existing security, risk-control, and anti-money-laundering rules for subaccount APIs carry over to Agent OS at launch. The maximum loss limit is tied to the subaccount's funds, meaning a subaccount with $5,000 in it has a $5,000 limit to losses.
