Binance Lists PONS and HAJIMI: Leverage Caps Trigger Trading Frenzy

Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has expanded its derivatives lineup by launching perpetual contracts for two new assets: PONS (Robinhood Chain) and HAJIMI ($BNB Smart Chain). The listing triggered a surge in trading volumes on TradingView charts and opened up opportunities for on-chain attacks.

The available leverage for these assets is not the same. PONS, the native utility token of Pons, has a maximum leverage of 20x due to its deflationary model, which involves automatic buybacks and burns funded by fees. In contrast, HAJIMI, a meme coin on $BNB Chain, has a strict cap of 3x leverage due to its extreme volatility.

According to on-chain analyst EmberCN, a bot successfully carried out a MEV attack (front-running) at the exact moment the news broke. The bot spent over $31,000 in fees and locked in $378,000 in net profit by buying and selling HAJIMI tokens before retail traders could enter the market.
