Binance Lists PONS and HAJIMI: Leverage Limits Spark Trading Frenzy
Binance has expanded its derivatives lineup by launching perpetual contracts for two new assets: PONS (Robinhood Chain) and HAJIMI (BNB Smart Chain).
The exchange applied a differentiated approach to risk management, offering up to 20x leverage for PONS, while capping leverage at 3x for the highly speculative HAJIMI.
This move triggered a surge in trading volumes on TradingView charts and opened up opportunities for traders. However, an immediate influx of liquidity also created a window for a major on-chain attack.
PONS is a deflationary token with automatic buybacks and burns funded by fees, which has led to its market capitalization approaching $1 billion after hitting new highs around $0.93.
HAJIMI, on the other hand, is a pure meme coin fueled by hype within the Asian community, currently trading at around $0.072 with a trading volume of $26.66 million.
A MEV attack (front-running) was carried out immediately after Binance published its announcement, with a bot hijacking the entire initial wave of liquidity ahead of retail traders.
