Binance Locks Down BNB Smart Chain Wallet for Routine Maintenance
Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has announced a scheduled maintenance window for its BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20) wallet. The maintenance is set to begin at 5:55 a.m. UTC on Aug. 20 and is expected to last approximately one hour.
During this period, deposits and withdrawals for all tokens on the BNB Smart Chain network will be temporarily suspended. Trading on Binance for BNB Smart Chain-based tokens will remain unaffected, as the maintenance only impacts deposit and withdrawal functions.
The exchange stated that the suspension is necessary to perform routine wallet maintenance, which typically includes system upgrades, security enhancements, and infrastructure optimization. This type of maintenance is standard practice for major exchanges to ensure network stability and protect user funds.
