Binance Locks Down BNB Smart Chain Wallets for One-Hour Maintenance
Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, is temporarily suspending BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20) deposits and withdrawals for scheduled wallet maintenance.
The maintenance is set to begin at 5:55 a.m. UTC on August 20 and is expected to last approximately one hour, during which time deposits and withdrawals of all tokens on the BNB Smart Chain network will be paused.
The exchange stated that the suspension is necessary for routine wallet maintenance, including system upgrades, security enhancements, and infrastructure optimization.
Trading on Binance for BNB Smart Chain-based tokens will remain unaffected, but transfers between Binance and external wallets, as well as deposits from other platforms, will be paused until the maintenance is completed.
