Binance Picks Kazakhstan as Regional Hub for International Settlements
Binance, the world's leading cryptocurrency exchange, has chosen Kazakhstan to establish a regional hub for international settlements. The initiative stems from a memorandum recently signed with the country's central bank, part of a series of new agreements with Astana.
The plan involves creating a settlement center in Kazakhstan that will process payments for customers in Central Asia and Eastern Europe. This includes cross-border payments and money transfers, including settlements for transactions with digital assets.
Binance's founder, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), visited Kazakhstan earlier this year to discuss the development of its digital economy. The company has also signed agreements with the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development and the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC).
