Binance Places Five Altcoins on Delisting Watch List Amid Elevated Volatility Concerns
Binance has placed five altcoins on its delisting watch list due to elevated volatility and risk, according to an announcement made on August 11. The affected assets are Moonbeam (GLMR), ICON (ICX), Moonriver (MOVR), SuperRare (RARE), and Sophon (SOPH).
The exchange did not provide specific reasons for the project additions but stated that tokens may be removed from the platform if they no longer meet listing requirements. The review is based on factors such as team commitment, development activity, trading and liquidity, network security, smart-contract security, public communication, ability to respond to due-diligence requests, changes in token supply, and evidence of misconduct.
Moonriver's price dropped by 20.7% within 24 hours after the announcement, while Moonbeam fell around 12.9%. The value of SuperRare decreased by approximately 8.3%, but ICON experienced a modest increase of about 0.8%. Trading volumes for Moonriver and ICON surged on the exchanges cited in the announcement.
The review follows recent migrations announced by the affected projects, including a 1:1 migration of GLMR from Polkadot-based Moonbeam parachain to Base and a similar migration of MOVR from its Kusama chain to Base. ICON plans to sunset its legacy blockchain on December 31, 2026.
