Binance Reserves Soar as Bitcoin Rally Falters on Warning Signs
Bitcoin's August rally has ended, but three warning signs have emerged that could signal trouble ahead. The cryptocurrency rose by approximately 24% in August, reaching a new high of around $80,000, its largest monthly gain so far this year.
However, data from CryptoQuant shows that Binance's Bitcoin reserves have reached a 2026 high of roughly 687,000 BTC, which could indicate increased supply in the market. This is concerning because traders often move coins onto exchanges to sell or hedge, making more supply available for sale during a rally.
Additionally, US spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced a $201.8 million net outflow on August 28, ending a nine-session inflow streak. Weekly flows also cooled down, with net inflows falling by 51.8% to $924.5 million in the week ending August 28.
Analyst Crypto Rover pointed out that the weekend advance lacked spot participation, suggesting that leverage may be driving the move rather than strong demand from buyers.
