Binance Rolls Out Lite Loan with Temporary Price Protection
Binance has launched Lite Loan, a bitcoin-backed borrowing product that allows users to borrow up to 1,000 USDT without selling their BTC. This new product targets customers with small, short-term liquidity needs who may find existing crypto lending products too complex or risky.
The exchange is offering a promotional fee of 0.5% until September 3, which will rise to 1% after the promotion ends. Borrowers pledge bitcoin as collateral and receive USDT that can be used for trading or payments through Binance Pay. Users may also pledge bitcoin held in Binance Simple Earn Flexible products, allowing the collateral to continue earning yield while the loan remains active.
The main difference between Lite Loan and other bitcoin-backed products is that changes in the bitcoin price do not trigger liquidation during the initial 30-day term. This gives borrowers a fixed repayment window without having to monitor the value of their collateral or add more bitcoin during a sudden market decline.
