Binance Sees $670M Stablecoin Inflows as Capital Repositioning Begins
The largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, Binance, saw a significant shift in investor behavior at the start of January. After December's $1.8 billion capital flight, more than $670 million in net stablecoin inflows were recorded on the platform during the first week of January.
This marks a change from October's exceptional liquidity, where Binance received over $8 billion in net stablecoin inflows. However, November saw momentum fade to around $1.7 billion in net inflows.
The trend reversed again in December when Binance recorded more than $1.8 billion in net stablecoin outflows. According to on-chain analyst Darkfost, this could be attributed to the exchange reducing its stablecoin holdings to adjust its reserve levels.
