Binance Sees $670M Stablecoin Influx After December's Capital Flight
Binance, the world's largest exchange by trading volume, saw a significant shift in investor behavior in January. After a month of capital flight in December, when $1.8 billion in stablecoins exited the platform, Binance recorded more than $670 million in net stablecoin inflows during the first week of January.
This marks a return to the exchange's exceptional liquidity seen in October, when $8 billion in net stablecoins flowed into the platform. However, November saw momentum fade, with only $1.7 billion in net inflows.
Analyst Darkfost attributes the shift to buying intent or demand that the exchange needs to accommodate. Binance's Bitcoin-to-stablecoin ratio has begun trending upward, suggesting sidelined capital may be re-entering the market.
