Binance Sees Over $670M Stablecoin Inflows After December Retreat
Binance has reported significant stablecoin inflows, marking a shift from December's capital flight. In January, the exchange saw over $670 million in net stablecoin inflows, following a month when Binance witnessed $1.8 billion exit the platform as investors pulled back from risk.
According to Darkfost, an on-chain analyst who tracked stablecoin movements on Binance, October delivered exceptional liquidity with more than $8 billion in net stablecoin inflows. However, this trend reversed in December when Binance recorded more than $1.8 billion in net stablecoin outflows.
Darkfost noted that Binance itself may have contributed to these outflows by reducing its stablecoin holdings to adjust reserve levels. The analyst stated that 'when stablecoins flow into exchanges, it generally reflects buying intent or highlights demand that the exchange needs to accommodate.'
Binance's Bitcoin-to-stablecoin ratio has begun trending upward, suggesting sidelined capital may be re-entering the market. This shift could mark the early stages of a gradual deployment of sidelined liquidity, representing a positive signal for the market.
