Binance Short Squeeze Drives Bitcoin Rally
A recent surge in Bitcoin's price has been attributed to intense short liquidations in Binance futures trading, according to CryptoQuant analyst BorisD.
The 'Short Squeeze' indicator on Binance has reached its highest value since November 2024, at 6.94, suggesting that the upward movement in Bitcoin is largely driven by the forced closing of short positions.
This phenomenon can create a rapid price increase due to the resulting buying pressure. However, BorisD warns that the sustainability of this rally depends on whether spot investor demand kicks in after the short squeeze effect subsides.
Without sustained buyers, Bitcoin may face a pullback once the momentum from short position closures weakens.
