Binance Slams Brakes on EU-Sanctioned Crypto Platforms
Binance has announced that it will restrict transactions with 11 cryptocurrency platforms starting August 23, in line with new measures from the European Union's sanctions framework.
The affected platforms include HTX and EXMO, as well as other exchanges such as Rapira, Aifory Pro, ABCeX, WhiteBird, NoOnecrypto, Tradex, Monease, BitPapa, and Exnode/Exnode Pay.
Binance will hold transfers linked to these platforms for compliance review, and associated wallets may face temporary restrictions. This is part of the EU's 21st sanctions package against Russia, adopted in July, which extended transaction prohibitions to certain cryptocurrency platforms outside the bloc.
The exchange has already applied similar restrictions to five other entities earlier this month, bringing the total number of affected crypto entities to 16. Binance emphasizes that these measures focus on the counterparty of the transaction, not the crypto asset itself, so Bitcoin and USDT will not be delisted simply because they are available on the flagged exchanges.
