Binance Stablecoin Inflows Fail to Offset Broader Exchange Reserve Decline
Despite a significant increase in stablecoin inflows to Binance in August, major cryptocurrency exchanges continue to struggle with declining reserves. According to data from CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost, Binance saw more than $1 billion in net stablecoin inflows during the month. However, this improvement was not enough to offset the $5.1 billion in net outflows since the beginning of the year.
The total reserve loss across major exchanges has exceeded $16 billion, indicating a persistent decline in liquidity conditions. Binance accounts for approximately 71 percent of stablecoin movements between exchanges, making its inflows and outflows crucial to understanding the broader market outlook.
Darkfost noted that downward pressure on Bitcoin could return if stablecoin demand does not recover following the price increase in August.
