Binance Strengthens African Footprint Through Multi-Country Engagement Tour
Binance, a leading global blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency exchange, has deepened its commitment to Africa through a multi-country engagement tour. The company's executive team met with central banks, regulators, policymakers, payment providers, fintech leaders, and law enforcement agencies across the continent.
The engagements reflect Binance's long-term commitment to bridging traditional finance and digital assets through trusted partnerships and regulatory collaboration. The focus is on strengthening compliance, expanding remittance capabilities, and deepening the utility of Binance Pay for users across Africa.
Larry Cooke, Africa Head of Legal at Binance, noted that 'the shared ambition to build digital finance responsibly' was a common theme among countries, regardless of their stage of crypto adoption. The conversation has shifted from whether digital assets have a role to play to how industry, regulators, and financial institutions work together to deliver meaningful value for businesses and consumers.
Binance Pay's continued growth is evidence of the company's commitment to the region. With over 323 million registered users in more than 100 countries, Binance now serves a large user base. More than 63,000 merchants worldwide accept payments through Binance Pay, making it a practical tool for cross-border remittances and day-to-day transactions.
