Binance TradFi Perpetuals Soar as Stocks and Commodities Gain Ground
Binance's expansion into traditional financial assets is gaining traction, as shown by data from August 19. At that time, two-thirds of Binance's 15 largest perpetual contracts by 24-hour trading volume were linked to stocks, ETFs, and commodities.
The SANDUSDT contract, which tracks SanDisk, led the rankings with approximately $6.87 billion in 24-hour trading volume, accounting for about 22% of SanDisk's Nasdaq trading volume during the same period. Silver also ranked prominently, with Binance's XAGUSDT perpetual contract generating around $826 million in daily volume.
Binance expanded its TradFi derivatives offering throughout 2026, adding exposure to U.S. stocks, ETFs, precious metals, and industrial commodities. These contracts are margined in USDT and can be traded around the clock, extending the 24/7 trading model familiar to cryptocurrency investors.
According to Shunyet Jan, Binance's Head of Exchange and Trading, the expansion supports the company's ambition to become a multi-asset financial platform where users can access cryptocurrencies, tokenized securities, and traditional markets through a single account.
