Binance TradFi Volume Surges to $433 Billion Amid Equity-Linked Contracts Dominance
Binance has seen a significant surge in its traditional finance (TradFi) perpetual futures trading volume, reaching approximately $433.4 billion in August. This represents a 15-fold increase since January.
The majority of this activity came from equity-linked contracts, which generated around $342.9 billion in volume and accounted for nearly 79% of Binance's TradFi perpetual volume during the month.
This growth is part of a broader trend, with centralized exchanges processing a record $460 billion of real-world-asset perpetual volume in July, according to CoinDesk Data. Binance controlled around 75.6% of this market.
To cater to its growing customer base, Binance is expanding its offerings by adding options on over 1,000 U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs for eligible users outside the United States. These physically settled options will be handled through a partnership with Alpaca Securities, which will provide execution, clearing, settlement, and custody services.
