Binance.US is taking a significant step in its expansion beyond spot crypto trading by planning to apply for a U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Designated Contract Market (DCM) license next month.

The move, announced by CEO Stephen Gregory at the RareEvo conference, aims to launch regulated prediction markets as part of the exchange's broader comeback strategy centered on lower fees, perpetuals, and new trading products.

Prediction markets are gaining attention across financial markets, with traders using event contracts to hedge risk and express views on elections, economic data, sports, and other outcomes.
