Binance User Data Linked to Arrest of Ukrainian Donor
Binance, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, has been at the center of controversy after it emerged that the platform handed over user data to Russia, which led to a Ukrainian donor's arrest.
The incident raises questions about the exchange's handling of sensitive information and its compliance with international laws. According to reports, Binance shared data with Russian authorities in July 2022, following a request under the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT).
The arrested individual is believed to be a Ukrainian donor who had provided financial support to anti-Kremlin forces in Ukraine.
