Binance vs Kraken: Exchanges Vie for Crypto Trader Dominance
Binance and Kraken are two of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world. A key difference between them is their fee structure, which can affect trading costs for users.
Binance offers lower standard spot fees compared to Kraken, starting at 0.10% maker and taker. However, using BNB when eligible can cut both rates to 0.075%. Kraken's updated fee structure considers spot volume, futures volume, and Assets on Platform, allowing large accounts to reach substantially lower rates.
Binance also offers a broader range of crypto products, including spot, margin, futures, options, copy trading, trading bots, Earn products, P2P, and Web3 services. This makes it the stronger choice for low standard spot fees, a broad crypto asset range, and a large derivatives menu.
Kraken has expanded its offerings to include over 260 margin-enabled markets and a broad perpetual futures range. It also offers more than 2,500 Solana tokens through its app in the United States and other countries.
