Binance Warns of Text-Based Phishing Scams Targeting Crypto Users
Binance has issued a warning about an increase in text-based phishing scams targeting cryptocurrency users. The scammers send messages that appear to be from Binance, claiming account settings have been changed or suspicious login activity detected.
The fraudulent messages often include shortened links and instruct recipients to 'verify' or 'secure' their accounts immediately. However, these links may direct users to websites created to imitate Binance's login or account verification pages, where scammers attempt to collect sensitive information.
Binance emphasizes that it will never ask customers to click a link in a text message to verify or secure an account. The exchange recommends opening the official Binance application or typing its web address directly into their browser instead of following suspicious links.
