Binance's Bitcoin Reserves Soar to Two-Year High
Binance's Bitcoin reserves have surged to a two-year high, reaching over 693,000 BTC. This represents approximately 30% of the total Bitcoin reserves held by major cryptocurrency exchanges. According to CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost, Binance's holdings increased by around 77,000 BTC since late April.
The rise in Binance's reserves can be attributed to investors moving more Bitcoin onto the exchange, attracted by its deep liquidity. However, some of these coins may eventually contribute to selling pressure on the market.
Darkfost pointed out that part of the increase could be linked to traders moving Bitcoin to exchanges during market rallies to sell. He also noted the presence of Binance's Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU), which involves plans to acquire additional Bitcoin.
Security concerns may have contributed to exchange inflows, with some holders moving assets to third-party platforms following the ColdCard incident. As Bitcoin faces a key resistance area around $83,000 to $86,000, some investors may be preparing to exit at break-even prices, potentially creating additional supply.
