Binance's bStocks Soars to Dominance in Tokenized Equity Market
Tokenized stocks have experienced explosive growth, reaching a market size of $13.7 billion in what appears to be a rapid ascent from crypto's fringe to mainstream. Binance's bStocks and Kraken's xStocks are the dominant players in this space, accounting for 70.1% of all decentralized exchange (DEX) trading volume in tokenized equities.
bStocks, launched by Binance on June 11, 2026, has been particularly successful. Within its first two months, it surpassed xStocks in assets under management (AUM), reaching $624 million compared to xStocks' $579-$601 million range at the time. By July 2026 alone, bStocks generated an astonishing $7.4 billion in DEX trading volume, representing around 85% of all tokenized stock trading that month.
The product's success can be attributed in part to its distribution advantage, with Binance being the largest crypto exchange by trading volume globally. The existing user base likely contributed significantly to bStocks' rapid growth, reaching $100 million in assets under management within 15 days of launch and a staggering $624 million within two months.
Additionally, bStocks operates under a regulated framework based in Abu Dhabi, which may provide an added layer of credibility for investors. The product's ability to offer tokenized shares backed 1:1 by actual US shares held at regulated custodians is also a key selling point, allowing users to trade equities around the clock and access fractional shares.
