The Bitcoin community is bracing for a crucial moment as the mandatory signaling window for BIP-110, a proposed soft fork, opens in less than two weeks. The proposal aims to limit the size of certain data fields used in transactions, primarily targeting Ordinals-style inscriptions and oversized OP_RETURN payloads.

Miner support has been growing gradually, but it remains modest at around 2.64%. This increase is a significant improvement from just a few weeks ago when signaling struggled to stay above 1%. However, the growth is largely driven by small mining operations and independent miners, with major pools like Foundry, Antpool, ViaBTC, and F2pool showing little movement.

The BIP-110 proposal was launched on December 1, 2025, using a modified BIP-9 process. It requires a 55% signaling threshold during a single difficulty period to lock in early or face a forced activation at block 965,664 one difficulty period later.
