BIP-110 Fork Chain Hits Roadblock with Only Two Blocks Mined
A Bitcoin fork chain enforcing BIP-110 has stalled after producing only two blocks, widening its gap with the main chain to 88 blocks.
The BIP-110 chain must mine the entire current 2,016-block adjustment period through block 963,647 to receive a difficulty adjustment, which will remain slow unless more hashpower shifts to it.
Michael Saylor and Adam Back have expressed concerns that BIP-110 could threaten Bitcoin's neutral rules and consensus structure, as well as potentially making some unspent transaction outputs permanently unusable.
