BIP-110 Fork Grinds to Halt After Mining Just Two Blocks
A controversial Bitcoin fork, known as BIP-110, has stalled after producing only two blocks over the weekend. The minority chain, which split from the main Bitcoin network on Saturday at block 961,632, is now frozen at block 961,633.
The breakaway network inherited Bitcoin's full mining difficulty of 127.48 trillion but commands minimal computing power, making it unlikely to reach its first difficulty adjustment anytime soon.
Prominent figures such as Michael Saylor and Adam Back have criticized the fork, while supporters like Luke Dashjr maintain that temporary consensus restrictions are necessary to curb non-monetary data storage.
