BIP-110 Fork Meets with Meager Miner Support
Bitcoin's BIP-110 fork has been met with lukewarm support from miners. According to Michael Saylor, only about 0.15% of Bitcoin's total hashpower is backing the minority branch.
This leaves the main chain far ahead, as it continues to produce blocks at a rate that would put its first difficulty adjustment roughly 25 years away, Saylor estimates.
The BIP-110 fork aimed to temporarily limit the use of Bitcoin transactions for non-financial data storage. However, with only two blocks produced on the minority branch since the fork, it's clear that most miners have chosen not to support this initiative.
