BIPOLAR Meme Coin Launch Hides a Trap for Unsuspecting Traders
A new meme coin called BIPOLAR is set to launch on Tuesday at 5 PM UTC, but there's a trap for unsuspecting traders. The coin was created on Pump.fun, a Solana-based launchpad that allows anyone to create a coin in just one minute.
The process of creating the coin involves no company or product information, and no paperwork is required. Each coin comes with a long code as proof of existence, but this can be easily copied by fakes, making it difficult for traders to verify the authenticity of the coins until Tuesday.
Pump.fun's open-source bundler allows creators to bundle their tokens with 25 buys, allowing them to purchase a large quantity of coins in an instant. This raises concerns about front-running and MEV (Mandatory Expiration Value) protection for buyers, as the formula-driven price may make it more attractive for subsequent purchases.
The average lifespan of Pump.fun memecoins is less than a day, with nearly 70% of all tokens traded only on their first day. This means that traders who invest in BIPOLAR may be unlikely to see returns beyond the initial launch period.
